Shreyasi Singh, daughter of former Union Minister Digvijay Singh, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shooter Shreyasi Singh may contest in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
Shreyasi Singh, a Commonwealth Games gold medalist, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday. The daughter of the former Union Minister may contest in the Bihar Assembly. Shreyasi Singh’s father was a leader of the Samajwadi Party, he had also been a Union Minister.
Shreyasi Singh has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretaries Bhupendra Singh Yadav and Arun Singh. Later, he also met BJP National President JP Nadda.
29-year-old Arjuna Awardee, Shreyasi Singh won the Gold Medal in the Commonwealth Games held at the 2018 Gold Coast.
The Bharatiya Janata Party can give him a ticket in the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Shreyasi Singh’s father Digvijay Singh has won the Lok Sabha elections several times from Banka in Bihar. He has also been a member of Rajya Sabha.
After the death of Digvijay Singh in 2010, Putul Singh, mother of Shreyasi Singh, contested the Lok Sabha election as an independent candidate. Later, Putul Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
